Aleksandar Kempa Stanojević

Mummification statement:
„The main focus of my interest is man, a three-dimensional object in human form, as well as a man’s product, that is, an everyday object that he uses and then discards. The very idea of work when making sculptures is based on the use of those discarded, non-artistic, utilitarian objects that are part of our everyday life. With the large consumption and availability of objects that are discarded on a daily basis, I point to consumer society, consumerism, but also the possibility of recycling in order to give new forms and values, changing the environment, purpose and purpose of the discarded. Also, I am based on research in which way the non-artistic becomes artistic. The very approach of the technique is associated with the Egyptian mummification of the human body. The portrait, which is the main motif of this work, represents the cause of waste accumulation and the main consumer. The dimensions of these sculptures rival the responsibilities of an ordinary person on the planet.“
